#AskKKS on Gilas 3

Because one of our readers asked/suggested/demanded that we should hear their ideas out and discuss certain issues instead of just picking topics by ourselves, here is the first official instalment of #AskKKS.

@PBALOL asked the following:

Win FIBA Asia Gold.

Seriously, if we are talking about what head coach Tab Baldwin and his Gilas 3 will need to accomplish to surpass Gilas 2... well then, it would have to be this very tall order which is definitely a lot easier said than done.
What needs to happen for Gilas 3 to win gold? Or even, match Gilas 2's silver?

For MVP to shell out another huge sum to fund the team AND to bring the tournament to Manila for that nice, home-cooking.

For China to keep sending their young guys instead of grizzled CBA veterans.

For Japan to be content with their love for a hybrid 7SOL style (those guys are fast, but not disciplined in the halfcourt which is something you don't hear about the Japanese in general).

For Iran's "golden age" core to get old.

For India to not give a shit about basketball as much as they do cricket. Seriously, India has a bunch of seven footers stashed somewhere much like the Chinese.

Forget about trying to qualify once again for the FIBA World Cup, as that would be very unrealistic at this point. What Gilas 3 needs to do is to achieve a level of consistency that was lost somewhere after "winning" the silver in 2013 only to finish 3rd in China in a pocket tourney, then go downhill in Spain, and later in Korea.

So yeah, we would not look as far as Gilas 3 outdoing Gilas 2 at this point. We would be more than happy if they could basically just equal Gilas 2's accomplishments in Asia and maybe have a medal finish in all Asian meets from here on out.
