KKS Monikers

The Wizard
Alex Cabagnot: The Wizard
Quinito Henson calls him "Crunch-man," he used to go with "Cool Whip," then there's the ongoing debate whether or not he's the league's number one point guard with his current string of impressive, clutch performances. But really, Alex Cabagnot is and by far deserving to be called "The Wizard" with his great plays in the clutch wherein he produces points or assists when his team needs it. Plus, he's got the league's best freestyle handles bar none. Not that he doesn't turn it over, but he's just Steve Nash flashy with it.

The Doctor is IN... most days
Ranidel de Ocampo: The Doctor
Surgical precision on the court. Can destroy you inside and out. His promdi looks and demeanor masks the warrior within who can dish hard fouls just as he can take them. Sometimes he goes through the motions and lets his speedier teammates take care of the scoring, others, The Doctor is IN and just schools young pups and old vets like the game comes easy for him. Ranidel de Ocampo earns this moniker because he's the most complete and polished big man in the PBA today.

BOOM BOOM BOOM for the Bataan Bomber

Gary David: Bataan Bomber
Because Mr. Pure Energy and El Granada are just too corny. Corny in the sense that Mr. Pure Energy is a play on Gary D. which sounds like the original MPE, Gary V. Gary David deserves more. El Granada? Gary Granada. Another singer of a different genre. Kudos to whoever came up with it. But David deserves something more original.

Si Caidic pumuti!
Jeffrei Chan: Trigger-Chan
Until we come up with something catchier, then Jeffrei Chan is Allan Caidic on loads of Chin Chun Su.

J-Shock
JVee Casio: J-Shock
Because Mico Halili's moniker for Casio,"Smurfinator, "sucks baboon ass. G-Shock's nice, but where's the G in J-V-E-E C-A-S-I-O? J-Shock. His own brand.

Paul Lee is... Paul Lee
Paul Lee: Paul Lee
Di ba napag usapan na natin to? Pagdating kay Paul Lee, wala ng Lethal Weapon. Wala ng Cobra Commander. Wala na lahat yan. Basta PAUL LEE. Tapos. Alam na.

Nino Canaleta: Big Easy
From slam dunks to drilling in three balls. This guy makes everything look easy on the floor. He isn't a superstar by any terms and definitely not the kind you build your team around, but whenever you're looking for points off the bench or quick threes, the Big Easy is your guy-- specially when he's hot.

Jimmy Alapag, Jayson Castro and Ryan Reyes: Three Mouse-keteers
The way Mico Halili has been throwing out his nerdy childhood-inspired monkers, you'd think he'd be able to touch on this all too fitting moniker for Talk 'n' Text's mighty troika of elite guards. You have the best slasher in the PBA in Castro, the best defensive guard in Reyes and one of the most clutch ever in Alapag. Just a no brainer on all fronts unless you can come up with a Trio who are better/ more famous than the original Musketeers.

Da who?
Philippine Basketball's Vince McMahon
For all intents and purposes, let's keep the identity of this moniker under wraps. If you've been reading this blog and even Offthebench.multiply.com (its predecessor) then you know who I'm talking about. From his cocky demeanor and build, to the opportunistic/ scheming/ laudable trades and what not that he's been able to pull for his employers, this guy is a basketball genius beyond his time and gets unfair treatment for it. Guy you hate if he's not on your team.
