Season's greetings! (Photo credit to Inquirer.net) |
Alaska Aces – let the kids play!
For a team that plays with so much hustle and tenacity, we have always admired the Aces for still being able to hold on to that overall team discipline both on and off the court. They are the PBA’s greatest asset IMHO, and a franchise that is worth emulating from coach to player. This being said, we would like to see less of the aging Tony dela Cruz and more of Rome dela Rosa and Kevin Racal please.
Barangay Ginebra San Miguel – shut up, put up or break up.
We saw some flashes, we saw the destructive potential under the Tim Cone regime, now it’s about filling in and accepting roles. Hopefully, we will see more improvements both as a unit and individually- this, or it is time to trade a few so-called “vital” pieces.
Barako Bull Energy Cola – no more trades, please!
Just leave. Please. Sell your franchise to someone who cares. RR Garcia is reportedly on his way out, your team’s best player this conference. Before him it was Denok Miranda. And before him it was Sol Mercado. Joseph Yeo. Emman Monfort. The list goes on and on and on…
Blackwater Elite – go young.
Okay, we see you Coach Leo Isaac. But we need more pieces. Or at least, keep on playing the younger, hungrier cats like Art dela Cruz and Reil Cervantes. Hell, can we see more of them playing together? They’re like Fire and Ice out there at the forward spot.
GlobalPort Batang Pier – keep it together.
Are you still a farm team in disguise? Can we please keep this team, which is now in the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals, together for the rest of this season at least?
Mahindra Enforcers – find a scorer.
L.A. Revilla is legit. Aldrech Ramos is okay. Bradwyn Guinto looks promising. Now let’s try to find a scorer to go along an expected foreign behemoth at the center position for next conference shall we?
Meralco Bolts – move on from Gary David and Jimmy Alapag.
You have Baser Amer and yet you choose to keep him on the bench. Alapag still has it, but Amer needs to be given the keys right now instead of later. If rumors are true, then Coach Norman Black is headed out the door with Ronnie Magsanoc set to take over.
NLEX Road Warriors – trade Asi.
We are wasting Asi Taulava’s resurgence here. No matter how great Sean Anthony has been, this team is still a few pieces away from being a legit contender. Please ship Asi over to TNT, where he can battle for probably his last PBA title.
Rain or Shine Elastopainters – sign Paul Lee to an extension.
This has surprisingly gone under-the-radar so far. Sign him up. Lock him up.
San Miguel Beermen – good health for all.
What is up with Lutz? Why is Coach Leo Austria playing his core guys- Alex Cabagnot, Junemar Fajardo, Marcio Lassiter and Arwind Santos 35+ minutes a night when his bench is as deep as it is? Can they sustain this for the long run? Is a grand slam really possible?
STAR Hotshots – a coaching 101 manual for Jason Webb
Coaching manual. At least 500 pages. And some seminars and clinics. He needs it badly.
Talk’n’Text Tropang Texters – find a center.
Jayson Castro is okay. The kids, Moala and Troy, are okay. But they are still young and need someone to guide them. Oh, look, Asi Taulava wants to contend for a title. He’s playing for TNT’s sister team that’s not really going anywhere. Can’t they just pluck him out of there?
P.S.
Chito Narvasa - stick to the game.
Suspension here. Suspension there. Let's give the commish a fresh start shall we and just tune out the semantics? The refereeing situation in the Quarterfinals should be looked into, plus the ridiculous playoff format. We hope that by next conference he'll introduce something else. Also, we haven't seen or heard any "lopsided" trades as of yet, so credit goes to him for that. Just stick to the game that we all love.
Agree or disagree? What changes would you like for your team to introduce this 2016? @kilikilishot on Twitter
