Opening Day Game(s) notes

The new PBA season is upon us!

Here are a few game notes from two days' worth of games, missed out on today's 2nd game: the Rain or Shine-TNT match, so you'll have to make do with the Blackwater vs Phoenix one for now. Will catch the game later on replay (thanks OSN and Aksyon International)!

Also, if you've been paying attention, it seems like they found a strong digital marketing arm to help keep in step with the times which is a good thing (someone send us free tickets or something! Lol)

San Miguel 96 - Star 88

- Alex Cabagnot, shooting guard. This is going to be fun.



- Paul Lee and Mark Barroca have on-court chemistry issues. Barroca's been ignoring him on offense a lot.

- ... Paul Lee's not making it that difficult for Barroca to ignore him though, turnovers, jittery... too excited?

- Tall frontline for Star: Aldrech Ramos, Marc Pingris and Ian Sangalang... no natural small forward though.

- Junemar Fajardo's just taking his time, picking his spots, 4x MVP when this season's over for sure

- Jio Jalalon is for real

- PJ Simon and Allein Maliksi both coming off the bench for Star is a bit off, two scorers with no defense. Big drop when Pingris sits and Jake Pascual comes in too

- Marcio Lassiter's missing some bunnies, but doesn't really matter. Shoes?

- Coach Leo Isaac's not too fond of playing rookies. Sorry McCarthy, AVO

- Pinalamang na nga gusto pa manalo?

- Arwind Santos is just steady

Blackwater 94 - Phoenix 87

- Simon Enciso looks like he's now comfortable as PHX's lead point guard; though if he's not too careful, rookie Gelo Alolino might steal his shine

- Mac Belo, number 1 overall pick.

- Ael Banal, number 1 pick... of the 2nd round.

- Meh, Matthew Wright's out with the stomach flu.

- Ah, so Dylan Ababou didn't forget how to play basketball after spending so many conferences on the bench for different teams

- John Pinto, Denok Miranda and Ael Banal... BW's point guard's are built like brick walls.

- James Forrester is jacked. Floyd Mayweather!

- JC Intal hair is a mess. Trust the process.

- Phoenix needs a big man to play around of, can we fast forward to next conference please?
