PBA Draft 2012: The Others

Okay, so we've written about the First Round picks and how they could help their respective teams earlier. Now it's time to take a quick look at the second to sixth round picks and playfully predict where they might be at year's end.

Second round

1. Air 21 - Yousef Taha (will battle Bitoy Omolon for minutes... and find that he's still soft around the corners)
2. Barako Bull - Dave Marcelo (most likely to be traded to an MVP team)
3. BMeg - Jewel Ponferrada (kiss Jerwin Gaco's minutes goodbye)
4. GlobalPort - AJ Mandani (is going to shock the world and steal JVee Casio's minutes)
5. Barako Bull - Lester Alvarez
6. Barako Bull - Emman Monfort (traded to Talk 'n' Text or sent to the ABL)
7. Meralco - Kelly Nabong (will have friendly encounters with Marc Pingris, Beau Belga, Ogie Menor, et. al. all his sixth game in the PBA)
8. Barako Bull - Woody Co (will wish that he didn't lose all that weight but would also do a Ken Bono-- good offense + so-so defense = bench/ ABL)
9. Alaska - Raphy Reyes (will make Cyrus Baguio look soft)
10. Talk 'n Text - Jaypee Belencion (gunner! Needs to bulk up and play defense)


Third round

1. Air21- Simon Atkins (Franz Pumaren remains loyal to his DLSU ties. Too loyal he picked a speedy PG with no PG skills)
2. Alaska - Karl Dehesa (Raw)
3. Barako Bull - Ryan Boado (Raw)
4. Meralco - Janus Lozada (Raw)
5. Petron Blaze - Mark Sarangay (Raw)
6. GlobalPort - Macky Acosta (Raw)
7. Rain or Shine - Bacon Austria (will be the most used player of the 3rd round lot thanks to Coach Yeng Guiao's "generous" offense. Ronjay Buenafe, The Bacon is coming for you!)
8. Ginebra - Jerick Canada (too many PGs at Ginebra. Might get cut because of his height, needs to outplay the hell out of Rob Labagala and all of his Ginebra co-rookie PGs)
9. BMeg - Gian Chiu (if Tim Cone could work magic with EJ Feihl, then there's hope for Chiu. That, or he opts out and starts a family business like all wealthy Fil-Chis do)
10. Talk 'n' Text - Jason Escueta (back-up big, needs to thank Ateneo and now TNT coach Norman Black for his first PBA paycheck)

Fourth round

3. Barako Bull - Kokoy Hemosisima (see you in the ABL)
4. Meralco - Eric Suguitan (still raw)
6. GlobalPort - Jan Colina (love his heart and game, just too small for PF and slow for SF. Either he turns into Jerwin Gaco, or finds gold in the ABL)
7. Rain or Shine - Jewel Palomique (will have to earn his keep, most likely won't but there's always Gilbert Buyloan to cut from the team lol)
8. Ginebra - Paul Zamar (talented guard, just too many PGs at Ginebra)
9. BMeg - Ramon Mabayo (kung ang Finals MVP nga na gaya ni Jonas Villanueva bihira ilaro ni Tim Cone e...)

Fifth round

6. GlobalPort - VJ Serios (are you Serios? Sorry. Couldn't help it.)

8. Ginebra - JR Buensuceso (see Paul Zamar)

Sixth round

8. Ginebra - Elliot Tan (see JR Buensuceso)
