Back to Bombing for Wilson

Superstars call for chest-to-betlog defense
Though his newfound home, the Air21 Express, have lost two of their last three games of the young season, John Wilson is looking more and more like the biggest steal of all with three straight sterling performances.

Right now the former Jose Rizal University ace Heavy Bomber and Barangay Ginebra defensive specialist is averaging a solid 18 ppg, 5 rpg and 4 apg. Good enough to earn him the Express' starting SG spot, supplanting Coach Franz Pumaren's favorite Ren-Ren Ritualo.

And though the Rain or Shine Elastopainters' Jeffrei Chan torched Wilson et. al. last night with 35 points, Wilson is as double-edged as they come. Not only is Wilson an established scorer ever since his collegiate days (he's a legit NCAA MVP) who's now finding his old form, but the dude has (as mentioned earlier) been a defensive pest which is something you can't say for every other scorer in the PBA today.

With veteran PG Wyne Arboleda and a solid defensive pair down low with Nonoy Baclao and rookie Yousef Taha, Wilson has only but Nino Canaleta standing in the way of averaging 20 a night. If Wilson could better improve his dribbling skills and polish his mid range game (which he had in college), then Ginebra fans would be going crazy and spewing venom at their team's management for letting such a prized talent go too soon.
