No gentleman

E DI WOW!

Well that was funny.

In case you missed it, the entire Globalport Batang Pier coaching staff and management opted not to shake the hands of their conquerors, the NLEX Road Warriors, after their game last night. The Warriors won 114-98, but not before calling a timeout in the dying seconds which drew the Batang Pier's ire.

See, there are two unwritten but universally observed "gentlemen's" basketball rules:

You simply do not 1) call a timeout in already won games 2) try to score a basket if you are on the winning side.

Boyet Fernandez has been guilty of both on separate occasions. He called a timeout last night with his team up 15 with only 37 seconds left in the game and (we remember this because we are SLR fans) that Kelly Williams end-game dunk which he allowed versus Tim Cone's Alaska Aces some years ago which also drew some flak.

So, is Coach Boyet the most ungentleman of coaches out there?
